The Global Crypto-asset Standards is a set of guidelines developed to promote integrity an effective functioning in the Crypto-asset Market. It aims to create a fair, liquid, transparent market where diverse Market Participants can confidently transact at competitive prices, following acceptable standards of behaviour. These standards are important as they encourage responsible activity, reduce risks, and prevent institutional collapse in the Crypto-asset industry. The Global Crypto-asset Standards does not impose legal obligations but complements local laws and regulations. The standards are maintained by the GBBC Digital Finance (GDF), an industry association fostering digital finance adoption. The GDF regularly reviews and updates the standards, using the FX Global Code as framework, while also addressing unique risks in the Crypto-asset Market.
